ヴェルニサージュ　Vernissage

夜遅めにＨさんの個展をパリ南部のギャラリーに訪ねる。　ナチュラルな森や花を版画で押し記した作品で、気持ちが和らぐ一瞬でした。　本日はオープニングパーティーですが、歯の治療を続行中ゆえ、お酒も飲めない夜ではありました。。。
ヴェルニサージュは仏語でオープニング・パーティーの事。ベルニ(Verni)はニスの事で、油絵の完成時に、コーティングの為にニス塗りする事を言うらしい。　粋な表現だなぁ～と思い、好きな言葉のひとつになってます。(takeo)　

I went to a Mr.H’s one-man show in south of Paris at late night.
Works which are engraved with natural forest or flowers soften my feeling.
Although it was opening party today, since I continued the dental treatment, I was not able to drink any alchool.
Vernissage means Opening party in English.
Verni means varnish. When a oil painting is completed, you put varnish on it for coating.
The expression Vernissage comes from this.
Since I found it very chic, this word is one of my favorite.
