懐しの　Hotel du Levant

I bought French Dictionary for the first time.
There is only two option either LE ROBERT or LAROUSSE, but LE ROBERT the one you can see on the top is overwhelmingly cooler!( I know, that is my single criterion)
Here in Saint-Michel is the area which has a lots of bookstores and secondhand store of CD or DVD.
There is “Hotel du Levant”, a hotel where I stayed at when I visited Paris for the first time.
At that time, I did not remember where I stayed
and I was exhausted from staying up all night two nights in a row.
Besides, I arrived at 5 o’clock in a morning so anyway, I WAS GROGGY.
But I certainly remember the glittered roof that I could see from the hotel window.
And that is a corner(the image above) where Police caught me for not carrying the ID card.
According to the dictionary, “Levant” means “the near east” or “Sunrise”.
There is always something to learn!

初めてフランスの国語辞典を買いました。LE ROBERT とLAROUSSE の
二社選択しかないのだけれど、写真のLE ROBERT社が圧倒的なかっこいい。(そんなレベルでしか選んでない)
ここｻﾝﾐｯｼｪﾙは、書店、古書店、CDやDVDの中古店が並ぶ地域で、実は、初めてパリに来た折、宿泊した Hotel du Levantがある。 ので、ぷら～っと寄ってみた。
当時は何処に泊まったかなど憶えてないし、出発前は２夜貫徹だったし、早朝5時到着便で意識は朦朧としてたし、、、　でも、ココに泊まったのは確か。　窓から見る建物の屋根がシルバーに光ってた。　そして、朝ウロウロしていたら、IDカード不携帯でポリスに捕まったのはこの角(写真右)です。。。
Levantを辞書で引いてみると、「近東諸国」や「日が昇る」という意味だそうです。　知らなかった～。
