初めてフランスに越して来た年、2000年の夏。
僕たちは初めて、それも人生初めての長期の休み、その名もバカンスというのを体験した。
ニースを拠点に地中海に面するコートダジュールに点在する町々を訪れてみた。
ニース、サンポールヴァンス、エゾ、アンティーブなどを経てイタリアとの国境の町、マントンまで行ってパスタを食べた。美味かった〜。
その旅行で僕はBIG MINIとニースの文房具屋で買ったメモ帳とペンだけを持っていた。町を訪れては、気に入った風景や人々の暮らしをスケッチした。
今、そのスケッチを見てもその時の心のときめき感を思い出せる。BIG MINIの方はさっぱりだ。
その記憶もあって、今回のバカンスでは、スケッチ旅行をしてみようを決めていた。画材は何がしっくりくるか、よく判らないので、ペン、鉛筆、水彩を娘と僕の２人分、スケッチ帳も２冊用意した。
僕の中ではスケッチに関して、２つの要素が混在していた。
１つは、娘と楽しく描く事。もう１つはトレーニング。
短時間で描くスケッチもしくはクロッキーの目的は、瞬時に空間や立体構造を認知して、４角い紙に構図として落とし込むことです。
学生の頃は、大阪の地下鉄谷町線を何往復もして、１枚１分くらいのクロッキーで車内の人々を描いたりしていました。まあ、そういうトレーニングでした。
最初の写真は、キャンプ場に到着して、すぐに自分たちの仮住まいのMobi Homeを描いてみた娘と僕のスケッチ。
僕がちょっと緊張ぎみに描いていると、娘がやってきて、案の定「ワタシもかく〜」と言って僕のブルーのペンを取り上げた。そして僕の描いているものをマジマジ見て一言、、、
「何で同じものかいてるの？」
要約すると、「何故、目の前の風景と同じものを複製しているのか？」ということかな？
彼女の中の「絵の概念」は、あくまでもイマジネーションの世界であって、写実的にコピーすることじゃないんでしょうね？
それを聞いて、「あなたはピカソか？！」とは思わなかったけど、そんな空間認知、立体認知のトレーニングは僕には必要ないと吹っ切れて、一瞬にして、こわばっていた筋肉や脳内神経がフリーダムになった。
まあ、上手か下手かは置いといて(笑)、娘のおかげで楽しくスケッチ旅行を満喫できた１週間になった。どうもありがとう、そら先生。娘からいろいろ学ばせてもらっています。
途中、僕のスケッチ待ちで、２時間に１本しか来ないバスを乗り過ごした事にはお詫びします、ペコっ。
The summer 2000. It was the first of summer after we move in France.
We have experienced long vacation for the first time in my life.
We tried to visit the cities of Cote d’Azur facing the Mediterranean based in Nice.
Nice, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Èze, Antibes… and we visited to eat spaghetti a town of the Italian border, Menton. It was delicious !
I had only compact camera(BIG MINI) and pen and sketch book i bought in a stationery shop in Nice.
I drew a life and people at each visit.
Sense revives with their sketches but BIG MINI does not come with a sense of memories
So I had decided to make a sketch in this summer vacation.
I was prepared felt-tip pens, pencils, water-colors for me and my daughter. I bought two sketch books.
About sketch drawing,
Two elements were mixed in my mind.
One side is a happy drawing with my daughter, Another side is a practice.
In a short time, we recognize the three-dimensional space and structure.

First photo is drawings of me and daughter of our temporary camping home called “Mobil Home”.
Just after I started my drawing, She said me “Me too !” and she took up my blue felt-tip pen.
“Why you are drawing same ?” She said with a look at the picture of me.
In summary “Why, do you replicate the same as the landscape in front of you?”
I think that painting is been to imagine, it is not to be copied for her conception ?!
I didn’t said “Are you Picasso ?” when I listen it.
But I was Free ;) I thought there is no need to practice to me !
I was able to enjoy a pleasant trip thanks to her. Thank you Prof. Sola.
I have learned a lot from daughter.
We apologize in that my sketch waiting, I lost a bus that come only one in two hours ;)
